Before emailing us, though, here are some answers to frequently asked questions (FAQ):
Q: Do you take reservations?
A: No, we do not take reservations for any size party. You are welcome to send a member of your party in ahead of time to check in with the host stand then grab a beer while you wait (if there is a wait). That's not a bad deal for the person who has to wait!
Q: Can I rent the Loft (our 2nd floor lounge) for a private event?
A: Maybe. The loft holds seats 20 and will hold a max of 25 people. The room is furnished like a living room with couches, love seats, arm chairs, coffee, & end tables. Very conducive to appetizer style parties, not so much the sit-down-and-eat type events. Reserving the room requires a $300 minimum food and beverage spend Monday through Thursday and a $500 minimum food and beverage spend Friday through Sunday. The total spend can be reached with one or multiple tabs. Please contact Troy DeVries if you are interested in reserving the space at email@example.com. If you're looking for a larger venue, consider our sister restaurant, Grand Rapids Brewing Co., which offers custom catering, a full bar and a larger private room for your group. Q: Do you ever host live music?
Q: When will you have _____ on tap?
A: We strive to have all of our beers listed on our tap list on the website. We also post major beer releases on our Facebook, Twitter and instagram accounts (both are @hopcatgr).
Q: Are you hiring?
A: We are usually looking for excellent people to join our HopCat family. If you think you've got the chops, please come in and talk to the manager (afternoons between 2 and 5 are often the best time to do so) or email your resume to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Q: Do you have gluten-free beers and food?
A: Yes. We have a selection of gluten-free beers in bottles as well as ciders on tap that are naturally gluten free. We also have wine and cocktails. Our gluten free menu items are limited, however we can adjust many of our regular items to make them without bread or other items containing gluten.
Q: Do you sell gift cards/T-shirts and other HopCat stuff?
A: Yes, we do. We sell gift cards in store and online (click the link in the lower right corner of this site). Each store has a unique merchandise selection which we do not currently sell online.
Q: Will you donate to our charity/auction/fundraiser?
A: Maybe. Email all requests for charitable donations to email@example.com. We assess these requests on a case-by-case basis.
