Earning Points & Using Rewards
How do I earn points?
Each time you make a purchase, you are awarded one point for each dollar spent on qualifying food purchases. Points are awarded based on the amount of your purchase and are rounded up or down to the nearest dollar. For example: if you spend $21.50 you will have earned 22 points with that purchase.
When visiting HopCat, you can let your server or bartender know you are in the program by giving them the 3 digit check-in code from our HopCat app. If you forgot your phone or don’t have the app, you can also give them your phone number to look up the account.
What purchases earn me points?
Food purchases, pre-tax, earn points. Each dollar is worth one point, but we do have special offers for double points, and a standing double-point Monday to earn your rewards even faster!
*Event menu purchases are not valid toward the HopCat Rewards Program.
How do I get the $10 off reward?
Once you have earned 100 points, your app automatically converts the points into a $10 reward. The reward must be used on a qualifying purchase of $15 or more, and expires within 30 days of receipt.
When will I see my birthday reward?
Birthday rewards are sent on your birthday. If you have input your birthday incorrectly, email firstname.lastname@example.org with the correct birthday for your rewards account.
When will the points I earned show up on my account?
Once the check is cashed out, you should be able to see your points accrued on the app, as well as the transaction in your history. However, in some cases it may take as long as the end of the day.
When do my points expire?
Your points expire after 90 days if there have not been enough earned to accrue an award and no guest activity has occurred during this time.
Why can’t I redeem rewards/earn points on beer?
At this time, we do not have the capacity to offer this, but it’s not ruled out yet! We always want to be respectful of local & federal liquor laws, which rarely allow us to offer free alcohol as a reward.
How are rewards redeemed?
Before the cashout process, let your server or bartender know you would like to redeem a reward. Rewards are redeemed on the highest price item on the check. For example, a free birthday entrée reward applied to a check with a Bar Zee Burger & a Madtown Grilled Cheese will result in a rewarded Bar Zee Burger.
Rewards cannot be redeemed on event menu purchases.
Can more than one person use their reward at the same table?
Sure – if the checks are split! One check = one rewards number. Checks cannot accommodate more than one rewards number. If you have multiple Rewards members at your table, speak to your server about how to split the checks so everyone may accrue points or redeem rewards. If you split an item — for example an appetizer — the portion of the food cost on the check will accrue points.
Are rewards valid on to-go orders?
No, rewards are only valid on dine-in only. You may, however, accrue points for what you spend on your to-go order. Make sure you give the host your rewards number to earn those points!
Can I redeem multiple rewards on one visit?
Only one reward per visit per account may be redeemed.
App or Account Assistance
I already have an account, but I can’t log in/it says “invalid email”/I can’t reset my password.
There’s a very good chance that you started an account through text message but the account is not registered. Go to “register my account” and follow the instructions, including creating a password. If you’re still having trouble, email email@example.com for assistance.
I followed those steps above, but the first thing it’s asking me for is my account number. How do I find that?
Text “Catpack [email]” to 73757 and you’ll get a text back reminding you of your account number. We also sent you an email on March 4th letting you know your account number. If all else fails, feel free to email us and we’ll help you out.
I use a CatPack card. How do I get that account on the app?
If your card is registered, you can reset your password at hopcat.com/rewards to log in to your account on the app. If your card is not registered (or you’re not sure!), go through the registration flow to set up an email and password. Use that email & password to log in to the app using “already have an account?” Still having trouble? Email us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we'll help you out!
I don’t have the app. How do I view my rewards?
Go to www.hopcat.com/rewards & select “log in to my account”. If you are having any troubles, take a look at some of the commonly asked troubleshooting questions.
I’m missing a reward! I should have [xyz…] on my account, but my app doesn’t show it

I had a card, but I lost it! Can I still recover that account?
We can try! Email us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll see how we can assist.
I found my old card, but I have a new account now. Can I still use the card instead of the app to check in?
Not until we link both accounts - Email us at email@example.com and we’ll take care of it for you.
I referred a friend, but I never got my points. How do I get those?
The most common reason is that the friend never created the account, or created an account without using the link you sent them. Double check with your buddy to see if they made an account and how they did – encourage your friends to use the link you send when you send it! Unfortunately, we are unable to add missed points due to friends not utilizing the referral link.
I’m missing a visit, how do I get that added?
Email firstname.lastname@example.org with the date & HopCat location of your visit and your check number – we’ll get those points added!
I am an employee of HopCat or BarFly Ventures. Am I allowed to use the Rewards program?
HopCat staff or BarFly employees may not participate in the Rewards program at this time.
Why do I have to give my phone number?
If you ever forget to bring in your phone or your CatPack card, you can provide your phone number registered on your account to redeem a reward and accrue points. We also use a phone number to verify your account and prevent fraud.
What do you do with my information?
We use contact information to send you exclusive offers, as well as keep you apprised of your rewards account activity. We also use your phone number at the restaurant to look up your account in case you forgot your card or phone so you can still earn points and redeem rewards.
Do share any of my data with 3rd party vendors?
No, we do not share any data with 3rd party vendors.

What is the new HopCat Rewards Program?
- No more tiers! The program has one free membership level.

I’m a FatCat/HepCat member. Are you taking my fries away?
No! You’ll get everything you paid for. However, when your FatCat/HepCat membership expires, you will not be able to renew at those levels. You’ll continue to be a member of the CatPack and earn points with every purchase.
What happens to existing points?
Points expire after 1 year. Existing points will be converted to the new rewards system, so if you have 388 points, you need only 12 more points to achieve a $10 food reward.
