Belgian National Day

Belgium's national holiday commemorates July 21st, 1831 on which Leopold of Saxe-Cobourg swore allegiance to the new Belgian constitution, thus becoming the nation’s first monarch. The king’s vow marked the start of the independent state of Belgium under a constitutional monarchy and parliament. We’ll celebrate Belgium’s independence day through the weekend in classic HopCat Fashion- with our favorite beer & Crack Frites!

Bangerz Only

Its a whale of an ale! Unicorns are real! On the first Wednesday of every month, we raid our cellar and tap one of the most rare, special, or just downright delicious beers we can find. We like to call them Bangerz! Every Banger will be tapped at open, but when its gone its gone. We will have no regrets. Will you?

“This luxurious brew begins with a big, beautiful Abbey Dubbel which then heads to our cellar, where it's gracefully aged for six months in a mix of bourbon and brandy casks. This blend of barrels adds an additional layer of flavor and complexity to what is already an incredibly layered drinking experience. The result is a beer worthy of slow-sipping, and deep contemplation. A beautiful fusion of dark fruit, caramel, molasses, and bourbon. Sip and enjoy, but be warned, Double Barrel Dubbel may result in a spiritual awakening.”

National Mead Day

To increase mead awareness and foster camaraderie among mead makers, Mead Day is observed each year on the first Saturday in August.  One of the world’s oldest fermented beverages, mead is also called honey wine, ambrosia or nectar. It is made by combining honey, water and yeast. Mead has been known to be called the “ancestor of all fermented drinks.”
