Belgian National Day!

Belgian National Day is July 21


Belgium's national holiday commemorates July 21st, 1831 on which Leopold of Saxe-Cobourg swore allegiance to the new Belgian constitution, thus becoming the nation’s first monarch. The king’s vow marked the start of the independent state of Belgium under a constitutional monarchy and parliament. We’ll celebrate Belgium’s independence day through the weekend in classic HopCat Fashion- with our favorite beer & food offerings.

Join us for an expertly paired tasting event. This month, to celebrate Belgian National Day, we will be featuring some of Belgium’s finest beers available in the good ‘ol USA. Featuring a 5-beer, 4-course meal with locally sourced ingredients used in every dish.

Welcoming beer:  Chimay Premiere – Trappist Dubbel – 7%


First Course:  Endive & Walnut Salad

Bangerz Only: Firestone Walker Bretta Rose

Its a whale of an ale! Unicorns are real! On the first Tuesday of every month, we raid our cellar and tap one of the most rare, special, or just downright delicious beers we can find. We like to call them Bangerz! Every Banger will be tapped at open, but when it’s gone it’s gone. We will have no regrets. Will you?

Firestone Walker {Paso Robles, CA}

Bretta Rose 

Berliner Weisse w/ Raspberry / ABV 5.3% / Snifter


Firestone Walker jumped at the opportunity to ferment fresh local raspberries with one of their Barrelworks creations.  Behold Bretta Rosé!  A low-alcohol Berliner Weisse style ale, acidified and matured in French oak puncheons for 6 months, is the foundation for this gem.  Add 1000 lbs. of fresh raspberries, allow a secondary wild fermentation for 4 more months and voila, we have a crisp effervescent concoction, bursting with raspberry perfume and flavor, a rosé color, bracing acidity, and a clean and refreshing finish.
