Summer Session Series

When long hot days give way to warm slow nights it’s time to pop a can, pour a drink, and relax with friends. Every Friday in July we are going to invite some of our good friends to come hang out on the patio to talk, give out swag, and drink some super sessionable, perfect-for-summer beers. Sit. Slow down. Sip. That’s what summer is all about!

Belgian National Day

Belgian National Day is July 21

Belgium's national holiday commemorates July 21st, 1831, when Leopold of Saxe-Cobourg swore allegiance to the new Belgian constitution, thus becoming the nation’s first monarch. The king’s vow marked the start of the independent state of Belgium under a constitutional monarchy and parliament. We’ll celebrate Belgium’s independence day through the weekend in classic HopCat Fashion - with our favorite Belgian beer offerings.

Bangerz Only: Burton Baton

Its a whale of an ale! Unicorns are real! On the first Thursday of every month, we raid our cellar and tap one of the most rare, special, or just downright delicious beers we can find. We like to call them Bangerz! Every Banger will be tapped at open, but when its gone its gone. We will have no regrets. Will you?

Burton Baton

Oak Aged Blended Ale / 10%

For Burton Baton, we brew two "threads," or batches, of beer: an English-style old ale and an imperial IPA.

After fermenting the beers separately in our stainless tanks, they're transferred and blended together in one of our large oak tanks. Burton Baton sits on the wood for about a month.

When enjoying the Burton Baton, you'll find an awesome blend of the citrus notes from Northwestern hops melding with woody, vanilla notes from the oak. The wood also tends to mellow the 10% ABV of Burton, so tread cautiously!

Grab your passport and get ready to go International! The first Friday in August is International Beer Day and HopCat is celebrating. In observance of the world’s oldest and most influential beverage we will be tapping a few select beers from countries around the globe.  Itinerary as follows:

Dog Days of Summer

The Dog Days refer to the hot sultry days of late Summer. When ancient astronomers noticed that the constellation Sirius, the dog, loyally followed Orion into the sky this time every year they saw fit to name this period of Summer after him. In recognition of man’s best friend HopCat is teaming up with Beer Paws to celebrate. We will be featuring some exceptionally canine inspired craft beers that are sure to get your tail wagging!
