Join us for an expertly paired tasting event with Destihl Brewery. Located in Normal, Illinois, their beer is anything but NORMAL! Kitchen Manager Extraordinaire, Jordan Leece, will be hand crafting a flavor packed, HopCat Experience like none other.

You don’t have to go to Germany to partake in the celebration of the world’s most well known beer festival. HopCat will bring it to you! We’ll be pouring our favorite local and authentic imported Oktoberfest biers, and serving our favorite German inspired food specials. Guests are encouraged to wear their best lederhosen or dirndls. We’ll also be giving away a limited amount of Oktoberfest steins (while supplies last) so get there early!

Come celebrate in true German fashion with your finest lederhosen and enjoy some of the best Oktoberfest beers available to us here in Minnesota. We will be featuring some local, national & international selections chosen from our amazing Beer Program Manger, Jordan Goetz.

A little history from the official Oktoberfest website - "Why is Oktoberfest called "Oktoberfest" when it actually begins in September?

The historical background: the first Oktoberfest was held in the year 1810 in honor of the Bavarian Crown Prince Ludwig's marriage to Princess Therese von Sachsen-Hildburghausen. The festivities began on October 12, 1810 and ended on October 17th with a horse race. In the following years, the celebrations were repeated and, later, the festival was prolonged and moved forward into September.

By moving the festivities up, it allowed for better weather conditions. Because the September nights were warmer, the visitors were able to enjoy the gardens outside the tents and the stroll over "die Wiesen" or the fields much longer without feeling chilly. Historically, the last Oktoberfest weekend was in October and this tradition continues into present times.

Join us for a special dinner featuring some of Germany’s most famous of dishes and beers expertly paired by our Executive Kitchen Manager, Jordan Leece. Hofbrau has been creating some of the best German beers Our, in-house, authentic Bavarian master, Markus Akre, will be guiding us through some great stories and authentic, homemade family recipes.
