American sour beer might be the “hot new thing”, but our friends at New Belgium have been at it for TWO DECADES!  We’ll be tapping 7 of our favorite sours beers from New Belgium in celebration of the 20thanniversary of their sour program!

A six-course tasting menu paired with beers from craft beer’s favorite family—the Canarchy! Join us for two beers from Perrin, two from Oskar Blues, and three from Cigar City, paired with small plates created by our talented chefs!

Welcoming Beer:   Mama’s Little Yella Pils / Czech Bohemian Pilsner / 4.7%

First Course:Caprese Phyllo Puffs—flaky phyllo dough filled and baked with fresh mozzarella cheese, roma tomatoes, and fresh basil, topped with balsamic vinegar reduction

Paired w/Passion Fruit Gose / Gose with Passion Fruit / 4.5%

Second Course:Smoked Salmon Mousse—a rich and creamy blend of smoked salmon, neufchatel cheese, scallions, and roasted garlic; served with marble rye toast points

Paired w/Grapefruit IPA / American IPA with Grapefruit / 5%

Third Course:Fire Roasted Chicken Wings with Mole Negro—fire grilled chicken wings tossed in an earthy and spicy black mole sauce

Paired w/Florida Cracker / Belgian Style White Ale w/ Coriander & Orange Peel / 5.5%

Fourth Course:Sesame Garlic Chicken Egg Rolls—crispy wonton wrapper filled and fried with shredded broccoli, carrots, cabbage, grilled chicken, and sesame garlic sauce; served with hot mustard and blood orange sauce for dipping

Paired w/Jai Alai / American IPA / 7.5%

Fifth Course:Adobo Pork Tostada—crispy corn tortilla topped with adobo braised pork, shaved red onions, cilantro, chipotle lime crema

Paired w/Maduro Brown / English Brown Ale / 5.5%

Dessert:Chocolate Cashew Brittle—served with a fresh caramel drizzle

Paired w/Ten Fidy / Imperial Stout / 10.5%

Its a whale of an ale! Unicorns are real! On the first Tuesday of every month, we raid our cellar and tap one of the most rare, special, or just downright delicious beers we can find. We like to call them Bangerz! Every Banger will be tapped at open, but when its gone its gone. We will have no regrets. Will you?

This month’s Banger is:

Dogfish Head {Milton, DE} 120 Minute IPA 

Imperial IPA - 18%

Mini-snifter - $7

Clocking in at 15-20% ABV, 120 Minute IPA is continuously hopped with a copious amount of high-alpha American hops throughout the boil and whirlpool, and then dry-hopped with another pallet of hops. Unfiltered and abundently hoppy, it's the Holy Grail for hopheads!

Check it out: we’re tapping six killer varieties of Gonzo’s Biggdogg Brewing’s Snack Attack—their signature saison!  This light, American take on the classic Belgian style takes on multiple personalities to satisfy all your flavor cravings.  Pick your favorite, or go for a flight! Our friends from Gonzo’s will be here all night with samples & swag, so don’t miss it!

You don’t have to go to Germany to partake in the celebration of the worlds most well known beer festival. HopCat will bring it to you! We’ll be pouring our favorite local and authentic imported  Oktoberfestbiers, and serving our favorite German inspired food specials. Guests are encouraged to wear their best lederhosen or dirndls. We’ll also be giving away a limited amount of Oktoberfest steins (while supplies last) so get there early!

A little history from the official Oktoberfest website - "Why is Oktoberfest called "Oktoberfest" when it actually begins in September?


The historical background: the first Oktoberfest was held in the year 1810 in honor of the Bavarian Crown Prince Ludwig's marriage to Princess Therese von Sachsen-Hildburghausen. The festivities began on October 12, 1810 and ended on October 17th with a horse race. In the following years, the celebrations were repeated and, later, the festival was prolonged and moved forward into September.

By moving the festivities up, it allowed for better weather conditions. Because the September nights were warmer, the visitors were able to enjoy the gardens outside the tents and the stroll over "die Wiesen" or the fields much longer without feeling chilly. Historically, the last Oktoberfest weekend was in October and this tradition continues into present times.

Welcoming Beer: Original - Munich Helles Lager - 5.1%

First Course: Hefe Weizen - Hefeweizen - 5.1%

paired with: Pickled Salmon with Avocado and Goat Cheese Mousse- Avocado boats filled with a rich and savory mousse made from fresh avocado, and goat cheese topped with tangy pickled salmon and fresh dill

Second Course: Dunkel - Munich Dunkel Lager - 5.5%

paired with: Rouladen-Thin sliced beef wrapped around onions, chopped bacon, and spicy mustard then slow braised to perfection; served on and bed of blaukraut (red cabbage)

Third Course: Oktoberfestbier - Marzen - 6.3%

paired with: Schweine Schnitzel with Lemon Butter Spaetzel-  Crispy fried pork cutlets coated in seasoned bread crumbs; served on a bed of traditional German pasta tossed with lemon, butter, and parsley

Fourth Course: Dunkel Weizen - Dunkelweizen - 5.1%

paired with: Apple Raspberry Tarte- Flaky pie crust filled with a sweet and sour blend of honey crisp apples and tart raspberries Sahne (German sweet cream).
